A calmer plan for tryout week.

Prepare the practical details, protect confidence, and know what to ask when a decision or offer arrives.

01

Before the first session

  • Confirm the field, arrival time, registration, equipment, and every session date.
  • Keep meals, sleep, and the final training days familiar.
  • Choose two controllable cues: communicate early and respond to the next play.
02

During the session

  • Scan before the ball arrives and stay connected when the ball is elsewhere.
  • Recover after mistakes instead of trying to erase them with one risky play.
  • Treat every player and coach with respect; behavior between repetitions is visible too.
03

When an offer arrives

  1. What is the roster size and who is the confirmed coach?
  2. What is the complete cost and the refund policy?
  3. What is the acceptance deadline, and can the details be sent in writing?
04

After any decision

Ask the player how the experience felt before reviewing performance. One selection decision is a snapshot of one environment, not a measurement of a player’s ceiling.
