Common questions

Straight answers for real situations.

How do I ask my coach about my role?

Choose a calm time and lead with learning: ‘What is my role right now, and what are one or two actions I can improve that you will notice?’ Listen, repeat back what you heard, and agree on when you can check in again.

Should I train every day?

Not every day needs to be hard. Team sessions, short technical work, easy movement, and full rest all count within a good week. Persistent soreness, poor sleep, irritability, or loss of enjoyment are reasons to tell a trusted adult and adjust the load.

What should I do after a bad game?

Let the first emotional reaction pass. Later, identify one useful decision, one action to repeat, and one question. A bad performance is information about a day—not a permanent description of you as a player.

How do I know whether a college coach is seriously interested?

Look for specific next actions: a personal evaluation, a scheduled conversation, a campus visit, a clear roster discussion, admissions support, or written aid terms. A general camp invitation or promotional message is not the same as a roster offer.
